Hunger of want

Thanks to google images for the use of this photo

How dispiriting
the "Hunger" of want
Masses - easily led astray,
craving what isn't accessible
Values are rent into,
seeding discontent within the soul.

A striving for the rainbow's end
keeps generations in lustful cycle-

When is enough, plentiful?

Your piece questions the most apparent flaw in the human nature ie greed. You have nicely put up your thoughts and raised one of the most important question.

I suppose without being in the reality of wanting, it is difficult to know exactly what it takes to bring satisfaction into a life.

These days it seems that sufficient, is never enough....

Seems like the "never enough" mentality is an epidemic among many who have so much... "seeding discontent within the soul." A thoughtful write indeed!

I wonder how many people think that they have 'enough.' This seems to have been a problem that has existed from the beginning of time. I wonder: If people did think they had 'enough,' would that take away their ambition? Don't know, just thinking about the concepts your poem brought to the surface. Glad to see you in Poetry Pantry.
