Facing The Sun

Too many pieces of my heart
are scattered on the path
before you.
I'm naked and exposed,
having cast aside
my protective garment of skin.
A sweet hunger
leaves my lips searching
 for the solace
of your inner sanctum.
Often we meet in dreams;
Your breath lovingly caresses my neck,
as you leave in the awakening hours
of dawn.
When the wind blows,
I hear your voice -- Then to you
I come, a fountain flowing with desire.
When my fountain has overflowed,
and the flute's melody has receded--
I'll stand in the early sunlight,
"Facing the sun."
