Catching rain on my tongue

The smell of wet leaves
reminds me of Autumn,
when I was five.

A cool breeze
had wrapped the day
with a gentle rain.

There was something...special
about "Those" changing leaves.

Maybe it was because
I'd been playing in a pile of them
when I caught mom and dad kissing in the rain.

perhaps it's the memory of me,
five years old,
trying to catch raindrops on my tongue.

Memories make us and shape us into who we turn out to be...
Great piece of literature and having caught mom and dad kissing in the rain is the best thing that could've ever happened to you...Love's in the air and loving families are not only happy families but they produce fine children...
Love is to family life...what water is to plant...necessary for growth and nurture.

Wonderful. I love fall and the rain. I wish it would rain here, it's been hot and humid all month. Eck. A delightful poem!

Lovely imagery here. I like the catching sight of mum and dad kissing and the raindrop on your tongue.

I love this, a beautiful write. Loved the two memories from age 5 playing with each other in the adult's mind.
