Cardboard Home

Here in your home, a cardboard box
where slits act as mini-blinds,
you sit sanitized by life.

The label on the box says, "well crafted".
A simplistic box among many boxes, yet
you loving fondle the texture of your home.

Among this collective city of cardboard boxes,
a base for all homeless souls, you stroke
your patchwork quilt of velvet leaves.

Sad and beautiful You certainly put a lot of emotion in these boxes. Happy New year dear Missy.

Such a strong message there and it truly brings tears to my eyes so sad. You write such beautiful poems Missy. I have missed you and I am taking the time to visit some blogs again right now. I hope all is well with you.

Interesting that we both went in the direction of homelessness. So sad.

A lovely way of describing something which is so often portrayed in an unhappy light. There is hope in your poem.
