Welcome to Poetry Prompt Melissa. :)You invoke the most precious gifts a mother can give her baby. Love and protection. Very beautiful. Nice structure too with the initial letters.

Thanks for visiting, and leaving a nice comment.I like the way this acrostic conveys instinctive maternal nurture. I always thought I loved kids until I became a dad. Then, I realized that I only "liked" kids before. Something happened the first time in that delivery room, and I felt a unique bond with my newborn.I've never been much of a poet. I'm the kind of guy that thinks Haiku is something you do to earn a black belt. ;-)
Thank you everyone for stopping by. I enjoy your comments!!!Hope your weekend will be a good one.
Simple but the message is so clear, This definitely appeals to the mother in myself. Great work Missy.
Something so complex as maternal love is elegantly conveyed in the simplicity of your short acrostic. Very nice write!
