Teddy Sherman

Chocolate brown with a red bow
sitting on the shelf.
Your torn and worn body
reflects a road map of
how much you were loved.

Under the covers held so tight.
Secrets whispered in your ears.
Always attentive to childish fears.
Comfort in your soulful eyes.

Cobwebs now lace your stance.
Memories retained only in you.
Your job well preformed,
but no thanks to sound your praise.

Child has grown to teen.
Solace once sought, forgotten.
A fleeting glance, a tug of memory,
he's out the door.
