Physical Violence

Physical violence

Behind the door,
what do they know?
Violence is alive,
she shrivels in its throes.

Hiding, he finds you.
Hands protect your face.
The force of swing
knocks your arms out of place.

Whimpering not allowed,
afraid you'll face death.
In silence you are beaten,
eventually he lowers his hands.

His form of justice,
so hard to understand.
You've done nothing,
yet anger controls this man.

Escape you hope comes swiftly.
In prayer you call out,
until that time of coming
violence will ring out.
